March 11, 2026, hosted by Web3Labs and YZi Labs, and co-organized by the Beijing-Hong Kong Internet 3.0 Industry Center, Xingdi Center, and OpenSchool, the “Developer Harbor: New Opportunities for Hong Kong in the AI Era” was successfully held at Xingdi Center in Chaoyang District, Beijing. This event gathered over a hundred Builders from innovation teams at universities nationwide and industry organizations to explore new opportunities for Hong Kong as an international technology innovation hub in the AI era.

🔹 Twin Cities Collaboration, Building an Innovation Bridge

The event brought together over a hundred innovators from top universities and cutting-edge technology fields across the country to witness the complete ecosystem from policy empowerment to technological implementation. The event opened with joint speeches by Chen Lei, member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Zhongguancun Chaoyang Park Administrative Committee, and Dr. Wu Jiezhuang, member of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and Chairman of the Business and Technology Innovation Committee of the Hong Kong Legislative Council. Both emphasized the strategic complementarity of Beijing and Hong Kong in technological innovation, talent mobility, and industrial collaboration, injecting confidence into building an international first-class innovation ecosystem in both cities.

Subsequently, Mr. Wong Wai-kei, Chief Administrative Officer of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Office in Beijing, provided a detailed explanation of the “Mainland Talent Entry Scheme,” clarifying application channels, support measures, and development pathways in Hong Kong, offering clear policy guidance for tech talents interested in cross-border development.

Web3Labs CEO Caspar Wong delivered a keynote speech, proposing that “the intersection of AI and Web3 is not at the application layer, but at the protocol layer,” revealing that the next-generation investment logic will focus on composable, verifiable, and operational real-value infrastructure.

🔹 Alpha Builders Debut, Showing Their Edge

The highlight of the “Developer Harbor: New Opportunities for Hong Kong in the AI Era (Beijing)” event was undoubtedly the debut of the “Alpha Builders Innovation Recruitment Program.” Co-launched by Web3Labs and YZi Labs, this initiative aims to discover and empower China’s most promising next-generation builders, bridging campus innovation with global ecosystem deployment.

At the event, seven top innovation teams from leading Chinese universities such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, and Zhejiang University showcased their projects, covering cutting-edge fields like AI intelligences, Web3 infrastructure, bio-computation, and privacy computing. These teams not only demonstrated solid engineering capabilities but also showed a deep understanding of “real-world problems” — embodying the long-standing “value-driven innovation” philosophy advocated by both sides.

As a leading global platform for Web3 investment and incubation, Web3Labs, in partnership with YZi Labs, is seeking builders who use technology to solve real-world challenges in Web3, AI, biotech, and more. The Alpha Builders program is a practical implementation of this philosophy — selected teams will have the opportunity to participate in YZi Labs’ EASY Residency interview, receive technical guidance, ecosystem resource connections, and early-stage funding to accelerate from prototype to product.

From campus labs to the international stage, Alpha Builders is building a fast track for “youth innovation power × global Web3 ecosystem.” This may well be the most promising answer to co-shaping the future in the AI era.

Today, as AI and Web3 reshape the global technological landscape, Hong Kong is becoming a key hub connecting outstanding innovative forces with the world stage through its open system, international ecosystem, and forward-looking policies. Web3Labs and YZi Labs will continue to discover daring builders who are ready to create, jointly building a more authentic, intelligent, and composable digital future.
