Amazon Web Services (AWS) and the PGA TOUR are entering a new era of hyper-personalization. At the recent Players Championship, AWS and the PGA TOUR showcased the TOURCAST Range technology, which goes beyond traditional golf broadcasts by visualizing each player’s every shot in 3D. This technology allows fans to watch players’ training in real-time and compare it with their season performance based on data.

Additionally, using AWS AI agent technology, the Agentic Production system automates the broadcast of the three-hole segment, significantly improving efficiency. This marks the development of AI into an AI director capable of analyzing camera data in real-time and selecting the best shot angles.

These technological innovations are transforming the PGA TOUR app from a simple information platform into a personalized storytelling platform for fans. These changes signal a new paradigm in golf viewing. Through its partnership with AWS, the PGA TOUR is working toward the long-term goal of live broadcasting every shot in more tournaments.

Since the collaboration began in 2021, AWS and the PGA TOUR have achieved numerous technological innovations, including ShotLink data migration, 3D immersive experiences, and predictive analytics. More AI and machine learning initiatives are expected to follow. As the PGA TOUR’s global official cloud service provider, AWS plays a central role in shaping the digital future of the sport.
