Global cryptocurrency exchange Gate announced the official launch of its new Gate Card, a crypto payment product featuring up to 5% cashback, a dual-track tier upgrade system, and elevated spending limits of up to $500,000 per transaction.
The card, which supports rewards in multiple assets including BTC, ETH, USDT, and GT, is now available for application through the Gate website and mobile app, marking the company’s expansion from trading services into consumer payment infrastructure.
The Gate Card operates across more than 100 countries and regions, reaching approximately 130 million merchants that accept Visa, and supports both virtual and physical form factors with Google Pay integration for mobile payments.
The Gate Card offers cashback rates scaling up to 5% based on user tier, with rewards distributed in cryptocurrency assets including Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), USDT, and Gate’s native token GT. The card carries a 1% fee, which higher-tier users can fully offset through cashback earnings, generating net positive returns on spending.
Cashback rewards are subject to monthly maximums, with top-tier users eligible for up to 250 USDT in rewards per month. This structure creates what Gate describes as a “spend-to-earn” mechanism that transforms routine purchases into yield-generating activity.
The card introduces a dual-track tier model that enables users to advance through either of two mechanisms:
Spending thresholds: Meeting predetermined consumption levels
VIP status: Qualifying through exchange trading activity
Users are not required to satisfy multiple overlapping conditions, simplifying the progression path. Tier assessments are automated and take effect in the following month, providing predictability for cardholders.
The Gate Card employs a T0 through T4 tier structure, with each level corresponding to progressively higher cashback rates and monthly reward caps. This graduated system is designed to incentivize long-term engagement and encourage users to expand both spending activity and asset holdings on the platform.
The card supports elevated spending limits tailored for high-net-worth users and large transactions:
Single transaction: Up to $500,000
Daily limit: Up to $500,000
Monthly limit: Up to $1,500,000
For VIP10 through VIP14 users, no annual limits apply, enabling substantial cross-border payments, large purchases, and capital management applications that require significant transaction capacity.
These high limits position the Gate Card for premium use cases beyond everyday spending, including business payments, real estate transactions, and other large-value applications where traditional crypto payment products may face constraints.
The Gate Card is accepted in over 100 countries and regions, leveraging Visa’s global merchant network of approximately 130 million locations. The card supports both online and offline payments as well as ATM withdrawals.
Users may choose between:
Virtual cards: For immediate digital use
Physical cards: For traditional point-of-sale transactions
The card supports Google Pay integration, enabling seamless mobile payments across compatible devices and expanding usability in everyday scenarios.
The Gate Card represents a bridge between on-chain assets and real-world economic activity, creating what Gate describes as a closed-loop growth model connecting trading, spending, and tier progression. Higher tiers unlock greater rewards, which in turn stimulate increased spending and trading activity, reinforcing user engagement and asset retention on the platform.
As cryptocurrency exchanges expand beyond trading into payments infrastructure, products like the Gate Card aim to accelerate mainstream adoption by increasing the practical utility of digital assets. The combination of high cashback rates, substantial spending limits, and structured growth incentives differentiates the offering in an increasingly competitive crypto payments landscape.
Gate indicated plans to further integrate crypto payments into its broader platform ecosystem and expand global use cases, with the stated objective of accelerating large-scale adoption of digital assets in everyday life.
Gate was founded in 2013 by Dr. Han and serves over 50 million users with access to more than 4,400 digital assets. The exchange pioneered the industry’s first 100% proof-of-reserves system. Beyond core trading services, Gate’s ecosystem includes Gate Wallet, Gate Ventures, and other blockchain-focused solutions.
Applications are now open through the official Gate website at gate.com/card or via the Gate mobile application. Users can choose between virtual and physical card options during the application process.
The Gate Card offers tiered cashback of up to 5%, with rewards distributed in cryptocurrency including BTC, ETH, USDT, and GT. The exact rate depends on the user’s tier level, which can be upgraded through either spending thresholds or exchange VIP status.
The Gate Card supports single transaction and daily limits of up to $500,000, with a monthly maximum of $1,500,000. VIP10 through VIP14 users have no annual limits, making the card suitable for large purchases and cross-border payments.
The Gate Card is accepted at approximately 130 million merchants worldwide across more than 100 countries and regions through Visa’s payment network. It supports online and offline purchases as well as ATM withdrawals, with Google Pay integration for mobile payments.
