Mars Finance News: On March 19, Visa’s Crypto Labs released a command-line interface (CLI) tool that allows AI agents to initiate automated payments directly from the terminal, enabling “hands-free” programmatic trading. The tool supports payment capabilities for bots, scripts, and other automation processes, without the need to manage API keys. It can be used directly for purchasing cloud resources, calling API services, and executing machine-to-machine payments. The product is currently in testing and requires a GitHub account application to access. Visa stated that as AI moves from “answering questions” to “performing tasks,” including automatic procurement of computing power, service calls, and micro-payments, the payment infrastructure must also be upgraded to support “command-line commerce.” Additionally, Visa has integrated the Machine Payment Protocol (MPP) and is collaborating with industry players like Coinbase and Cloudflare to promote AI payment standards, accelerating the development of an AI-native payment ecosystem.
