Gate News reported that on March 20, U.S. Republican Senator Cynthia Lummis posted on social media stating: "We have gone too far to return to a state of regulatory uncertainty. Digital assets represent the future, and now is the time for America to provide them with the development environment they need." Previously, Cynthia Lummis posted that she met with Mike Selig, Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC, the federal agency responsible for regulating derivatives markets), to discuss digital asset market structure issues. Lummis stated: "Mike Selig understands the urgency of the current situation, and I look forward to continuing our cooperation and working together to integrate digital assets into the 21st century financial system."
