The entire Pi community and any individual who is able to acquire Pi through a Centralized Exchange (CEX).
Duration:
The auction will start on Pi Day on March 14, 2025 and will end on Pi Day 2 on June 28, 2025. If there are new bids within 24 hours of the end of the domain auction, the individual domain auction for a specific domain name will be extended. To be clear, this means that a single domain auction for a particular domain name will only end if there are no new bids within 24 hours before the auction for that domain ends.
Rules & How to Participate:
Pioneers can participate by visitinghttps: // domains .pinet. comPi browser, this will lead people to purchase related products such as the Pi wallet to complete the bidding.
In the auction interface, type the domain you want to protect for use;
Bid on the domain (minimum bid is 10 Pi); and
The highest bidder will win and purchase the .pi domain name for its exclusive use, but may have to pay an annual registration and maintenance fee similar to the cost of a traditional Internet domain name in the future.
Bidding method:
Pioneers can take advantage of the Pi blockchain's proven feature, the Claimable Balance feature, which allows Pioneers to send their Pi in a reversible manner to bid on domains. This means that they can withdraw the amount previously bid at any time before the auction ends.
Shortly after the auction launches, people who only own Pi through the exchange will also be able to participate in the auction. Since the exchange does not support claimable balances, the process will be different. In this case, the auction user interface will generate a custom Pi blockchain address for each domain they want to bid on (these special addresses will start with the letter "M"). These individuals will then be able to send Pi to these addresses as bids. As these bids are executed as a standard payment method, any refunds will only be processed after the auction closes. Regarding the transfer of domains to these winners, they will need to set up a standard Pi blockchain account in order to receive their .pi domains. People who want to use the Pi blockchain can become pioneers through the normal onboarding process for Pi mobile accounts.
Note: The Company reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to void or void any domain name auction or bid for any reason. For example, we may exclude reserved domains and certain domain names from the auction for official or future use, such as pi, pinetwork, coreteam, maps, etc. Vulgar or offensive language will also be excluded. Participants in any void auction will simply recoup the amount they provided as a staking bid at any time through the Claimable Balance feature, or after June 28, 2025 for non-pioneers. Gas charges apply. Auction participants will be required to pay a gas fee for each additional (0.01 Pi), modified (0.02 Pi) or removed (0.01 Pi) bids. Depending on the decision of the blockchain, additional or higher gas charges may be applied in practice.
