Putin's assistant Shoigu meets with Kim Jong-un, Pyongyang plans to provide more military assistance.
According to Gate News bot, the North Korean state media reported on Wednesday that Kim Jong-un discussed ongoing cooperation with Moscow during talks with President Vladimir Putin’s senior security assistant, Sergei Shoigu. Earlier reports indicated that Pyongyang plans to send more military personnel to support Russia.
Although the Korean Central News Agency did not disclose details about sending more North Korean personnel to its allies, Russian media quoted Shoigu as saying that Pyongyang would send an additional 6,000 military personnel to the Kursk region near the Russian border.
Shoygu met with Kim Jong-un in Pyongyang on Tuesday, marking his third meeting in a few months, as this meeting is part of Putin’s “special mission.” Currently, the two countries are celebrating the one-year anniversary of the signing of a military treaty and expanding their strategic partnership amid increasing international sanctions.
According to reports from the Korean Central News Agency, Kim Jong-un reviewed the war situation, including the Kursk border area, and discussed “recent cooperation matters and long-term plans” to implement the agreements reached in private communications with Putin over the past few weeks.
