A certain crypto investor donated £9 million, helping the UK Reform Party's Q3 donations surpass those of other parties in the country.
PANews, December 4—According to Bloomberg, thanks to a record £9 million ($12 million) donation from crypto investor Christopher Harborne, the Nigel Farage-led Reform UK party received more donations in the third quarter than any other UK political party, indicating that the business community and wealthy individuals are taking the party’s lead in opinion polls seriously. From July to September, Reform UK received £10.3 million in donations, the ruling Labour Party led by Keir Starmer received £2.2 million, and the main opposition Conservative Party received £4.7 million. These figures do not include public funding given to opposition parties by the government.
Although quarterly political donation data can fluctuate significantly, the amount raised by Reform UK has surpassed all other major UK parties, demonstrating the party’s growing influence in the country’s political landscape. Despite having only five MPs in the 650-seat House of Commons, Farage’s party has consistently topped national polls since April.
