23% of UK Investors Change Portfolio Allocation Over Political Uncertainty in June

According to IG's biannual Client Sentiment Study, 23% of active UK retail investors changed their portfolio allocation in June because of political uncertainty, with 42% of that group shifting funds to international markets. The survey, conducted among approximately 1,800 active IG clients between June 9 and 23, found that concern about domestic political uncertainty reached 61%, the highest level since IG began tracking client sentiment in January 2022. Among respondents, 78% expected political uncertainty to either damage the UK stock market or increase volatility over the coming months.
