69% of Americans Support Forcing AI Firms to Transfer 50% Stock to Public Fund, Survey Finds

According to a Verasight survey of 1,690 adults carried out in June and published earlier this month, 69% of Americans support forcing AI companies to transfer 50% of their stock to a public sovereign wealth fund. The findings reflect growing worker dissatisfaction over escalating tech layoffs despite higher corporate profits.

Senator Bernie Sanders introduced legislation in June that would grant the public a 50% stake in the largest U.S. AI companies. Goldman Sachs estimates that approximately 9% of the U.S. labor force, or around 15 million workers, could lose their jobs over a 10-year AI transition period.
