A woman in Hong Kong was defrauded in a fake Cryptocurrency exchange shop, losing 12,000 USDT.
PANews reported on October 27 that according to HK01, a virtual money fraud occurred in Tai Kok Tsui, Hong Kong. At about 4 p.m. on the 26th, the police received a report from a woman who said that at about 1 p.m., she went to a virtual money exchange (OTC) on the ground floor of No. 55 Tai Kok Tsui Road, and wanted to exchange USD (USDT) for cash. The woman waited for a long time, but did not see anyone coming, so she called the police for help. Police classified the case as “fraud” and no arrests have been made. It is reported that the female victim lost 12,000 US dollars, equivalent to a total value of about 93,000 Hong Kong dollars. The woman said that she had been following the store from the social media Instagram since August, and it seemed that the store had been in operation for several months, and the other party also showed that there were customer transactions, so she believed that the store was credible.
