New York Attorney General Letitia James has taken legal action to recover more than $2 million in Cryptocurrency that was scammed. The scammers promised remote job opportunities to lure these victims into purchasing Cryptocurrency. James stated in a recent statement: “Scammers are sending text messages to New York residents, promising them high-paying, flexible jobs, only to lure them into buying cryptocurrency and then stealing cryptocurrency from them.” With the assistance of the U.S. Secret Service, James stated that the stolen cryptocurrency has been frozen, and urged people to be wary of suspicious text messages from unknown senders, especially those claiming to offer job or other opportunities.
