Apple Reclaims Top Market Cap Spot After 15 Months as Nasdaq Slides 0.18% on Chip Weakness

According to Asia Economic Daily, U.S. stock indices closed mixed on July 27 as semiconductor weakness pulled Nasdaq down 0.18% to 24,932.08, while Dow Jones rose 0.51% to 52,210.08 and S&P 500 gained 0.02% to 7,413.18. International oil prices dropped sharply following eased tensions between the U.S. and Iran, with WTI crude falling 7.5% to $82.61 per barrel and Brent crude declining 8.7% to $88.36 per barrel.

Semiconductor stocks led declines, with AMD, Micron, and Teradyne each falling 5.17%, 2.25%, and 4.33% respectively. Apple's stock rose approximately 1% to $336.91, lifting its market capitalization to $4.948 trillion and reclaiming the world's top market value position after 15 months, displacing Nvidia which declined 5% to $196.51 with a market cap of $4.756 trillion.
