Baichuan AI's Last Cofounder Departs as Wang Xiaochuan Pursues Solo Medical AI Strategy

According to Behai Lab's exclusive report, Ru Liyun, cofounder of Baichuan AI and former COO of Sogou, has departed the company and now serves as president of Huichen Stock. His exit marks the full departure of all original cofounders from Baichuan, the report said.

The departures reflect strategic divergence over the company's direction. Wang Xiaochuan, the remaining founder, is consolidating focus on medical AI, while some cofounders preferred continued investment in general-purpose models and AI coding. Baichuan is currently advancing medical large language model M4 and a family doctor AI agent called Baichuan Doctor.
