According to Guru Club citing QuestMobile, Baidu's Douyin-like AI application Baofeng led China's AI app market as of May 2026, with 382 million monthly active users, representing 172.1% year-over-year growth. ByteDance's Qianwen ranked second with 167 million MAU and posted explosive growth of 5,792.9% year-over-year, while DeepSeek's application placed third with 130 million MAU.

Native AI apps across all platforms recorded 499 million MAU collectively, up 85.4% year-over-year, indicating strong consolidation around leading players.
