Base Identifies Consensus Issue Behind June 25 Mainnet Stall at Block 47,806,542; Sequencer Recovers by 17:51 UTC

According to Base's official status updates, a consensus issue on June 25 caused an invalid block at height 47,806,542, halting mainnet block production until recovery began at 17:51 UTC. Block production became unhealthy at 16:03 UTC, disrupting deposits, withdrawals and client software across the network.

Base isolated a consensus problem that sequenced an invalid block, preventing new blocks from being created. The team's internal sequencer and nodes recovered preliminarily, with block production resuming at 17:51 UTC and ecosystem-wide syncing confirmed by 17:58 UTC. By 19:22 UTC, the sequencer and supporting systems remained stable, with blocks being produced normally. Base confirmed user funds remained secure throughout the incident.
