BlackRock, JPMorgan and 52 Other Firms Join UK Tokenization Group Targeting £33B Annual Growth

According to the UK Treasury report released on July 13, 2026, 54 major financial institutions including BlackRock, Goldman Sachs, HSBC, JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley and UBS have joined a government-backed tokenization working group to advance tokenized financial markets. The initiative will initially focus on tokenized repurchase agreement transactions. The UK Treasury estimates tokenized markets could generate up to £33 billion in additional annual economic output and £14 billion in annual tax revenue by 2035. An end-to-end tokenized repo transaction test is expected by spring 2027.
