Cardano to Transfer Five Core Infrastructure Components to Independent Teams Starting August

According to Input Output, Cardano will transfer responsibility for five critical blockchain infrastructure components to independent specialist organizations starting in August, with the transition continuing through 2027. The transferred components include the Haskell node (primary client), Plutus smart contract platform, Daedalus wallet, Hydra scaling technology, and developer relations. Input Output selected Se7en Labs, which has experience with Solana infrastructure, and Teragone, which leads development on Mithril's staking-based signature protocol, to oversee the transferred systems. The phased approach is designed to reduce dependence on a single development organization while maintaining operational continuity and strengthening Cardano's decentralized governance model.
