China Lodges Formal Protest Against Japan Over South China Sea Arbitration Case Remarks on July 12

According to Jin10, on July 12, China's Foreign Ministry Asian Affairs Division issued a formal démarche to Japan's deputy chief of mission in Beijing, protesting Japan's recent statements commemorating the tenth anniversary of the South China Sea arbitration ruling and a joint statement issued with other countries. China said Japan has no standing to comment on South China Sea issues given its historical responsibility in the region, and accused Japan of employing double standards and undermining regional peace and stability.
