China's A-Share Markets Close Down Over 2% on July 24; Trading Volume Falls to 1.93 Trillion Yuan

According to Caixin, on July 24, China's A-share markets closed with weak sentiment as the Shanghai Composite Index, Shenzhen Component Index, and ChiNext Index all declined, with the latter two falling over 2%. Trading volume across Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges dropped to 1.93 trillion yuan, marking a three-month low and a contraction of 264.2 billion yuan from the previous trading day. Over 4,900 stocks declined across the market. Semiconductor equipment and edge AI concepts showed strength with several stocks hitting daily limits, while military and power grid equipment sectors also rallied. In contrast, computing rental and electric power sectors weakened, with several stocks hitting daily lows.
