China's Brain-Computer Interface Technology Advances; BCI-Linked Stocks Rise 18–43% in May

According to People Finance, China's brain-computer interface (BCI) technology achieved major breakthroughs in mid-May. On May 13, the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry announced progress in BCI for chronic pain treatment, while on May 18, China officially launched the first 128-channel fully implanted BCI system multi-center clinical trial. Supporting this momentum, BCI enterprise financing surged to unprecedented levels in 2025, with total funding in the first three months of 2026 already exceeding the entire prior year.

In the A-share market, 35 listed companies engaged in BCI supply chains faced average declines of 3.32% in May. However, 10 stocks advanced, led by Dari Electronics (up 43.13%), Guangpu Technology (up 33.47%), and Hanwei Electronics (up 18.7%), according to data from Securities Times. Institutional investors remain focused on BCI concepts, with 21 such stocks receiving analyst ratings.
