China's Foreign Investment Surges in H1, 4,800 Firms Add Investment

According to China's Ministry of Commerce, foreign investment in China surged in the first half of 2026, with newly established foreign-funded enterprises growing 5.3% year-over-year and total foreign direct investment reaching 402.14 billion yuan. High-tech industries saw the strongest growth at 33.2% year-over-year, accounting for 42.4% of total inflows. Additionally, approximately 4,800 foreign enterprises made follow-up investments during the period, signaling sustained confidence in the Chinese market.
