Cyclosporiasis Cases in Michigan Hit 1,251, Up 26% in 24 Hours

According to Bloomberg, a cyclosporiasis outbreak is spreading across the Midwest and New York, with Michigan recording 1,251 cases on Thursday, a 26% surge from the previous day. The infections are concentrated in southeastern Michigan. Dr. Daniel Griffin, infectious disease physician and president of Parasites Without Borders, noted: "When you hear over 1,000 cases, we are potentially talking about a substantial number of undiagnosed infections." Federal health officials are investigating the outbreak's source.
