DAXA Warns of PC App Impersonation Scams Targeting South Korean Won Exchanges on July 8

According to DAXA, South Korea's digital asset exchange consortium, on July 8, the organization warned users about phishing sites impersonating domestic won-based exchanges and malicious PC applications. The scams, promoted via SNS ads, lure users to install fake desktop trading programs by offering promises of zero trading fees and special promotions. However, legitimate South Korean exchanges do not provide PC-exclusive installation programs; users installing such applications risk credential theft, financial asset loss, and unauthorized remote access. DAXA advised users to access official websites directly, refuse PC program installations, avoid excessive benefit advertisements, refrain from downloading suspicious executable files, and report suspicious sites to exchange customer service immediately.
