DeepSeek Founder Liang Wenfeng: Restraint is Strategy, Target AGI Not Super App

According to ChainCatcher, DeepSeek founder Liang Wenfeng stated in a recently circulated investor meeting that the company's goal is to achieve AGI, not become a super app. The company will not develop 3D generation, video generation, or world models, and will remain open-source. Liang said "restraint is a strategy used to increase the probability of achieving AGI," describing products as "byproducts" on the path to AGI. On commercialization, Liang stated DeepSeek aims for "reasonable profits" rather than profit maximization, adding the company remains "far from full commercialization." He assessed the U.S.-China AI gap stems primarily from resource disparity rather than talent difference.
