Defense Tech Startups Raise Record $17.4B YTD 2026, Up 55% From 2025

According to Dealroom, defense technology startups have raised a record $17.4 billion year-to-date in 2026, far exceeding the $11.2 billion secured in 2025. The largest funding rounds came from U.S.-based companies: Anduril raised $5 billion in May, Shield AI secured $2 billion in March, and Saronic Technologies closed an $1.8 billion round also in March.
