Digital Yuan App Launches Offline Payment Code Feature, Now Supported by 5 Banks

According to Beijing Business Today, the Digital Yuan App has launched an offline payment code feature to facilitate transactions in network-limited environments such as subways, large venues, and remote outdoor areas. The Digital Yuan Operating Management Center announced that wallets from Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Bank of Communications, Postal Savings Bank of China, and Industrial Bank now support the offline payment code function, with plans to expand to more operating institutions.

The offline code is automatically generated when network connectivity is disrupted or signal is weak, requiring no manual setup from users. To use the feature, users must enable the small-amount payment-free authentication function and optionally activate the recharge-as-needed feature to ensure seamless payments when balances are low.
