DS Investment Securities Raises KOSPI Target to 9,000, Interprets Market Correction as Rally Setup

According to DS Investment Securities report on July 28, the brokerage raised its KOSPI target for the second half of 2026 to 9,000 and reinterpreted the recent sharp decline in AI-related stocks as a correction phase rather than trend reversal. Of 282 domestic stocks analyzed, 83% are currently in a distribution-to-collapse cycle stage, representing 93% by market capitalization. Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix entered a distribution stage on July 2. The report suggests capex adjustments could lead to dollar weakness and rate cuts in the latter half, creating conditions for a rebound phase, with AI potentially re-emerging as a leading sector after midterm elections.
