DTCC Expands Clearing Infrastructure for Options-Based ETFs as Demand Surges

GateNews
DTCC announced it has expanded its central clearing infrastructure to support options-based exchange-traded funds, enabling its subsidiaries National Securities Clearing Corporation and Depository Trust Company to centrally clear ETF shares containing listed options as underlying components through integrated connectivity with The Options Clearing Corporation. Under the framework, ETF shares and eligible components will clear through NSCC and settle at DTC, while listed options will continue clearing through OCC, with NSCC facilitating options position transfers between counterparties through integrated workflows. DTCC also enhanced its liquidity and risk management capabilities to provide earlier access to preliminary ETF transaction data, supporting more timely liquidity estimation and risk monitoring.
