From 12:30-12:45 UTC on July 14, 2026, ETH rapidly surged, recording a +1.33% increase within 15 minutes. The price range was $1,801.19–$1,831.64 USDT, with an Ampl of 1.69%. Market volatility intensified, social media attention clearly heated up, and institutional large-amount buying became the core short-term narrative.

The main driver behind this spike was BitMine Immersion, an institutional-grade buyer, massively increasing its ETH holdings. On-chain data shows BitMine purchased 27,801 ETH in a single transaction (about $49 million). Its total holdings now reach 5.77 million ETH, roughly 4.8% of Ethereum’s circulating supply, while it also reports holding about $11.3 billion in crypto assets and cash. During the market pullback, institutions accumulated on the dip against the trend, signaling a strong bottom and providing real support for short-term price action.

Meanwhile, a sharp drop in US inflation data reduced expectations that the Fed would keep interest rates high. Risk assets’ appetite broadly rebounded: gold broke above $4,100, and the macro environment turned marginally favorable for the crypto market. However, note that the Ethereum spot ETF recorded a net outflow of $15.4092 million on July 13, diverging from the price rally. This suggests institutional funds via the ETF channel are taking profits in the current phase, limiting upside potential. Order book data shows a sizable sell wall near $1,859 (12.805 units). The bid/ask depth ratio is 1.21, slightly favoring buys, but overall liquidity remains relatively thin.

Technically, ADX across all timeframes remains low. There is a contradiction between 4-hour moving averages leaning bearish and 15-minute moving averages leaning bullish, with no clear trend direction. In the short term, focus on whether the $1,860 resistance level can break upward with volume, and be alert to amplified volatility caused by insufficient order book liquidity.
