Eurozone June CPI Confirmed at 2.8%, Matches Forecast as Prices Cool

According to Eurostat, the Eurozone's June consumer price index came in at 2.8% year-over-year on July 17, matching preliminary expectations. Core CPI, which excludes volatile items like energy and food, rose 2.4%, also in line with forecasts. Both measures declined from May's readings of 3.2% and 2.6% respectively. Services contributed 1.51 percentage points to the headline increase, followed by energy at 0.77 percentage points.
