Fed Should Not Over-Intervene in Banks' AI Adoption, Bowman Says on July 15

According to Jin10, on July 15, Federal Reserve Governor Bowman said the Fed should not over-intervene in banks' adoption of artificial intelligence and other new technologies. Bowman stated that lending institutions understand the risks associated with innovation better than regulators and should be allowed to decide when to adopt new technologies themselves. He added that banks know their customers, communities, and risk tolerances better than the Fed and that the central bank should set clear expectations, maintain transparency, and refrain from interfering with individual business decisions related to innovation.
