According to official announcements, Fhenix acquired cryptography startup Sunscreen on July 2, 2026, to strengthen its fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) capabilities and accelerate privacy technology development for blockchain applications. Sunscreen founder Ravital Solomon will lead research in advanced cryptography fields including TFHE, BFV, encrypted computation, and post-quantum security. Sunscreen, launched publicly in 2022, developed open-source FHE compiler tools and expanded into zero-knowledge systems and threshold encryption. Fhenix is developing privacy infrastructure through CoFHE, an encrypted computation layer for Ethereum Virtual Machine-compatible blockchains, with research focused on scalable encryption systems and quantum-resistant solutions for payments, finance, and digital identity applications.
