According to BlockBeats, on July 27, Futu Clearing (Futu Securities' U.S. clearing entity) and TradeUP (Interactive Brokers' U.S. brokerage entity) provided information on over 310 accounts suspected of participating in options insider trading to litigation plaintiffs. The number of implicated accounts has grown from approximately 100 previously disclosed.
Among the accounts, only 8 traders derived profits exceeding $80 million from the suspected insider trading, accounting for nearly 60% of the estimated total illicit gains of $137 million. These traders allegedly made large options purchases ahead of regulatory documents affecting Futu and Tiger Securities. Case investigations and litigation remain ongoing.
