According to Nikkei Asia Review, the implicit debt of five major U.S. technology companies—Alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, and Oracle—reached $1.65 trillion in the latest quarter as of July 21, driven by non-transparent AI financing activities. The combined implicit debt of these firms has surged 8-fold over the past four years, far exceeding their reported on-balance-sheet liabilities of approximately $1.35 trillion.
