According to CCTV News, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a phone call with EU High Representative Kaja Kallas on July 25 to discuss regional and international developments. During the conversation, Araghchi criticized European countries for irresponsible attitudes toward regional issues and held the EU accountable for the attack on an Iranian merchant vessel by Ukrainian forces, citing the EU's support for Ukraine. Kallas expressed concern about the escalation of any conflict and emphasized the importance of continued consultations between the EU and Iran.
