Japan's Nuclear Regulator Exposes Security Breach at Fukushima Plants' Counterterrorism Files

According to Japan's Nuclear Regulation Authority, announced July 9, Tokyo Electric Power Company's Fukushima Daiichi and Daini nuclear plants improperly managed counterterrorism-sensitive documents. Classified files intended for authorized personnel only were stored in shared computer folders across multiple departments, allowing unauthorized staff to access restricted information.

The regulator stated no evidence of external information leakage has been detected so far. Further investigation will be conducted to determine the root causes of the management failure.
