Kim Min-seok Unveils Financial Reform Plan Including Digital Asset Law and Won-Denominated Stablecoin

According to a press conference at the National Assembly this morning (July 22), Kim Min-seok, former Prime Minister and Democratic Party presidential candidate, unveiled a '4+1 reform agenda' that includes financial reforms centered on digital asset sovereignty. The digital asset-related measures include processing the Digital Asset Basic Law, institutionalizing won-denominated stablecoins, establishing token securities issuance and distribution systems, and implementing investor protection measures. The Digital Asset Basic Law, which covers stablecoin regulation and business operator oversight, aims for enactment within this year.
