Korean Financial Firms Expand in US and Europe, Plan 10-City Roadshow Starting October

According to Seoul Economy, Korean financial investment companies including Korea Investment & Securities (KIS) and Mirae Asset Securities have expanded their presence in New York and Europe with localization and differentiation strategies. As of end-2025, 19 Korean securities firms and asset managers operated local offices in New York, compared with 15 five years earlier.

KIS US is focusing on middle-market lending to small and mid-sized enterprises, targeting funding of 200-300 billion won with higher profit margins. Mirae Asset Securities established a digital assets team in New York, considering the New York Stock Exchange's recent tokenization platform. Samsung Securities plans a joint marketing tour with Korea Exchange starting October, covering London, Stockholm, Milan, and Zurich, introducing Korean capital markets and listed companies. The London Stock Exchange also provides transaction fee waivers and other incentives to Korean brokers to strengthen partnerships.
