KOSPI Forward PER Hits 5.13x on July 28, Below 2008 Financial Crisis Levels

According to Korean media reports, South Korea's KOSPI index forward price-to-earnings ratio (PER) fell to 5.13x on July 28, marking its lowest level since the 2008 financial crisis. The metric has halved since January's peak of 10.57x. Major constituents including Samsung Electronics (3.82x PER) and SK Hynix (3.99x PER) trade at a discount of approximately 83% compared to U.S. tech peers, which average 22.56x PER.
