Lithium Industry Bets on Energy Storage as Battery Demand Outpaces EV Market

According to Fastmarkets, lithium producers said this week that surging battery energy storage demand is helping offset the slowdown in the electric vehicle market. Fastmarkets CEO Raju Daswani stated that the "period of market over-adjustment has ended" and storage has become "the primary driver of market growth." The company estimates that battery storage system lithium demand is growing at 40% annually, providing a more stable foundation compared to the more volatile consumer-driven EV market.
