Lithuania's President Accepts PM's Resignation, Appoints Caretaker Government on June 23

According to Jin10, Lithuania's President Gitanas Nausėda accepted Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė's resignation on June 23 and appointed her as caretaker prime minister. Under Lithuanian law, when the prime minister resigns, the entire cabinet must also step down. The new prime minister will be recommended by the Social Democratic Party, which holds the most parliamentary seats.
