Malaysia's Economic Minister: Global Energy Turbulence to Push Up Food Prices

According to Malaysia's Economic Minister Akmal Nasrual on June 29, global energy market turbulence and ongoing supply disruptions are expected to drive up fertilizer and food prices domestically. Nasrual stated in parliament that the government anticipates the global energy market will stabilize from the third quarter of 2026 onward, though prospects remain subject to geopolitical developments. Malaysia will continue monitoring and intervening to mitigate pressure on households, small businesses, and industries.
