OpenAI CEO Altman to Brief Trump Officials on Next-Gen AI Models Next Week

According to Bloomberg, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman plans to brief U.S. administration officials and lawmakers next week on the company's next-generation AI models, including GPT-4.5 and GPT-5.

The U.S. government is expected to introduce a voluntary review framework within weeks that would allow developers to provide officials with access to frontier AI models for up to 30 days before release, without requiring licensing. OpenAI's chief global affairs officer Chris Lehane said the meetings will also cover the potential impact of these models on work.
