OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Deletes TikTok Over Addiction on July 27

According to Business Insider, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman revealed on July 27 (local time) that he deleted TikTok after becoming addicted to the app during research for developing Sora. He initially used TikTok to better understand its recommendation algorithm, which he described as "industry-leading." However, his usage time gradually increased from intended 10-minute sessions to hours of scrolling, including one three-hour session on a Saturday afternoon. Describing the experience as "like a drug," Altman eventually decided to quit completely after multiple failed attempts to limit his usage.
