OpenAI has unveiled a limited preview of its GPT-5.6 series, comprising three models: Sol, the company's most powerful model to date; Terra, a balanced model for everyday work with performance equivalent to GPT-5.5 but at half the cost; and Luna, offering powerful capabilities at the lowest price point. The company plans to fully roll out all three models within the coming weeks. As part of ongoing communication with the U.S. government, OpenAI provided the government an advance preview of the models and their capabilities ahead of the Friday launch.
