Russia Expresses Openness to Peace Negotiations, Expects US Mediation on July 5

According to Kremlin spokesman Peskov, on July 5, Russia expressed openness to peace negotiations and expects the United States to play a mediation role. Peskov stated that the Russian military is steadily advancing in the special military operation zone and establishing a security buffer zone along the border. He added that Russia welcomes visits from U.S. presidential envoy Vit Khochkov and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner, and maintains contact with the United States through existing channels despite their recent absence.
