Samsung Electro-Mechanics Raises MLCC Prices 30% From August 1; Taiyo Yuden to Follow in September

According to Citrini analyst Jukan, Samsung Electro-Mechanics notified customers on July 29 of a 30% price increase on certain MLCC (multilayer ceramic capacitor) products effective August 1, 2026. The price adjustment applies to all MLCC products under Samsung's Markup Business Code segment and covers all shipments from August 1 onward. The company cited sustained global demand for electronics and supply chain pressures as reasons for the increase.

Japanese MLCC manufacturer Taiyo Yuden announced plans to raise MLCC prices starting September 1, citing rising raw material costs and tight supply-demand conditions. Taiyo Yuden warned that even after the price adjustment, it may still be unable to fully meet customer demand and cannot guarantee delivery timelines for some orders.
