Samsung, Hyundai to Invest 102 Trillion Won in Yeongnam Region, Create 200,000 Jobs

According to Seoul Economic, Samsung and Hyundai announced plans to invest 102 trillion won in South Korea's Yeongnam region, with Samsung committing 60 trillion won and Hyundai 42 trillion won. Samsung will establish a humanoid robot production line in Gumi and develop a solid-state battery hub in Ulsan, while Hyundai will build an AI-based autonomous vehicle manufacturing center in Ulsan.

The investments are expected to generate 200,000 quality jobs across the region. SK Telecom separately announced a 140 trillion won AI data center investment plan for Ulsan, further positioning the industrial region as a global hub for advanced manufacturing, AI infrastructure, and next-generation battery technology.
