Senate Majority Leader Thune Says CLARITY Act Likely Misses Pre-Recess Vote Window

According to Senate Majority Leader John Thune, the Digital Asset Market CLARITY Act is expected to miss the Senate floor vote before Congress's summer break. Thune told reporters this week that while he would like to get the bill started, the timeline remains uncertain. White House Crypto Council Director Patrick Witt, however, expressed greater optimism, noting the Senate is in session during the first week of August and a floor vote could still occur. The bill, which splits crypto oversight between the SEC and CFTC, passed the Senate Banking Committee with a 15-9 vote in May, but unresolved ethics provisions and stablecoin treatment disagreements have delayed floor consideration.
